$100,000 over one year, to continue a participatory grassroots needs assessment and planning process, and to develop its capacity to translate these plans into successful proposals for funding, resulting in the mobilization of approximately $2 million for local development, benefiting 50 NGOs in Chalatenango (ES-166)
Federación de Centros Awa (AWA)
$71,500 over three years, to continue a bilingual environmental management training program and an alternative production project attached to community schools, benefiting 5,000 indigenous inhabitants of 18 AWA communities on Ecuador's tropical coast. (EC–355)
Servicio Ecuatoriano de Voluntarios (SEV)
$320,000 over three years, to mobilize human resources, promote social responsibility, and strengthen volunteerism via a program of university and campesino volunteers, especially in soil conservation, reforestation, agricultural and artisan production, health, and education. (EC–356)

Fundación Ecológica Ecuatoriana (FUDEC)
$390,300 over two years, to administer a small-projects fund enabling grassroots groups and private support organizations to carry out self-help initiatives in organizational development, production, marketing, environmental protection, and cultural revitalization; and to support resource mobilization, training, technical assistance, learning, dissemination, educational exchanges, and networking for grassroots development.
