Initial site visits are an important part of our grant-making process. They allow our program staff to see organizations’ operations, meet with their staff and participants, and get a good sense of how they work before we fund them. These visits help us ensure that initiatives are effective, inclusive, and likely to be sustainable over time. In early March 2020, before the halted travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several IAF staff members visited the Caribbean islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Lucia. They found a wealth of possibilities in the community-led projects they visited.
As we all long for the days when our movement will be less restricted than it is now, we invite you to take a peek behind the scenes of how we work in the Caribbean.
