Project Description
Due to their isolation, smallholder farmers in Catamarca often lack access to markets to sell their goods. Cooperativa Agroganadera Diaguita Limitada de Santa Maria (Diaguita) provides technical assistance to its members and smallholder farmers in the region to improve their production of aromatic herbs and spices and to identify markets in which to sell fair trade products. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Argentina. Diaguita’s activities encourage small business growth, local entrepreneurship and market development to ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
