On the Bolivian altiplano, Aymara communities face challenges in maintaining their way of life as dairy farmers, especially for women. Asociación de Mujeres Aymaras Lecheras de Irpa Chico (AMALIC) works to improve the quality and quantity of its members milk production and develop a diverse array of dairy products for local and regional markets. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Bolivia. AMALIC’s activities promote smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
