Project Description
Smallholder farmers in the Chapada Diamantina region of Bahia, Brazil need more sustainable agroecological practices to support their organic coffee crops. Cooperativa de Produtores Orgânicos e Biodinâmicos da Chapada Diamantina (COOPERBIO) works with member-farmers to improve production, processing and marketing methods and increase crop diversity with local fruit trees. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Brazil. Cooperbio’s activities encourage small business growth, local entrepreneurship and market development to ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
