Low-income women affected by domestic violence in small towns in the rural Northeast of Brazil benefit from access to job training as a means to financial independence. Associação das Bordadeiras de Nazária (ASBON) provides technical assistance for women in Piauí to develop vocational skills and promotes increased capacity in business management, marketing and gender equality in labor relations. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Brazil. ASBON’s activities encourage small business growth, local entrepreneurship and market development to ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
