Communities everywhere depend upon clean water and healthy forests for their livelihoods. Liga de Comunidades Unidas en Conservación del Agua (Liga Cuenca) educates local residents about the importance of forest and water conservation and facilitates loans to enable communities to acquire land to protect their water sources. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to strengthen governance in Costa Rica. Liga Cuenca’s activities bolster efforts to counteract environmental degradation and protect the natural resources that communities depend on.
