Project Description
Smallholder cacao farmers in isolated Vuelta Larga, Dominican Republic, struggle with low productivity and marginal profits. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to enhance food security and expand economic opportunities through sustainable agriculture. Our grantee partner, La Asociación de Cacaocultores Los Innovadores de Vuelta Larga (ASOCAIVUL), is training cacao farmers in agroforestry and organic production, establishing a nursery to grow seedlings for its members, and working with farmers to increase production by adopting more resilient crops.
