Project Description

Family-run microbusinesses in San Francisco Javier, San Agustín, Jiquilisco and Ozatlán struggle to generate sufficient income to support their livelihoods. Asociación Coordinadora de Comunidades Unidas de Usulután (COMUS) engages with a network of microbusinesses to improve the distribution of their products and to develop the organizational skills of community organizations. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in El Salvador. COMUS’s activities encourage small business growth, local entrepreneurship and market development to ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.

This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
