Project Description

In rural areas of El Salvador, young people who lack strong ties to their communities are especially likely to migrate. Fundación Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen (MUPI) collaborates with schools and communities to organize migration-related exhibits and film forums on gender equality, violence prevention, and culture of peace. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to strengthen governance in El Salvador. MUPI’s activities promote alternatives to migration by generating opportunities for individuals to engage in their communities in productive ways.

This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
