Project Description

Young people from the violent neighborhoods of Mejicanos, Ciudad Delgado, Cuscatancingo, Tecoluca, Zacatecoluca and Jiqulisco struggle to acquire job and life skills that would improve their livelihoods. Asociación Intersectorial para el Desarrollo Económico y Progreso Social (CIDEP) builds supportive local alliances and provides technical assistance to children and adolescents to develop skills in leadership, violence prevention, employability and culture of peace. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to enhance peace and security in El Salvador. CIDEP’s activities strengthen communities through education and training and build peer-to-peer learning and action networks.

This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
