Project Description

The residents of three hamlets of Polorós, La Unión live in one of the most arid areas of El Salvador, and food security is a critical issue. Asociación de Desarrollo Comunal El Rodeo (ADESCOER) provides technical assistance to families in these communities to diversify family farms via crop, poultry and improved beef and dairy cattle production. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in El Salvador. ADESCOER’s activities support smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive. This grant is part of a broader IAF initiative focused on supporting economic prosperity, democracy, and governance consistent with the U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
