Indigenous farmers in Petén are not well versed about the benefits of the different land title programs. Asociación de Comunidades Campesinas Indígenas para el Desarrollo Integral de Petén (ACDIP) creates educational materials in Spanish and Q’eqchi’ and provides technical assistance to develop skills in using alternative, legal methods of land management according to indigenous practices. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to enhance governance in Guatemala. ACDIP’s activities strengthen communities through education and training and build peer-to-peer learning and action networks.
This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
