Residents in western Honduras have limited economic options to sustain their livelihoods. Cooperativa Agrícola Esfuerzo Occidental Limitada (CAEOL) works with farmers to adopt practices compatible with the responsible use of natural resources, to increase production and to generate more income. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Honduras. CAEOL’s activities promote smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
