Small businesses in the tourism sector on the North Coast lack marketing skills and access to credit and often struggle to compete against larger tour operators. The Asociación Pro Comunidades Turísticas de Honduras (LAPROCOTURH) strengthens its member network of local tourism providers and offers technical assistance, credit and a single marketing system to facilitate tourism arrivals. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Honduras. LAPROCOTURH’s activities encourage small business growth, local entrepreneurship and market development to ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.
This grant is part of our broader initiative to support economic prosperity, democracy and governance consistent with the U.S Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
