Miskito women in the Región Atlántica Autónoma Norte experience barriers to participation and have few opportunities to generate income. Asociación Movimiento de Mujeres Nidia White (Nidia White) provides technical assistance for women to develop skills in financial independence and raises awareness to prevent family violence. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to enhance peace and security in Nicaragua. Nidia White’s activities strengthen excluded communities so they can improve their living conditions and participate equally in a nation’s political, economic and social life.
