Women and young people in Posoltega face violence and barriers to participation in their rural communities. Asociación Multidisciplinaria para el Desarrollo (AMDES) provides technical assistance for residents and networks of women to increase their capacity in civic involvement, violence prevention and economic independence. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to strengthen governance in Nicaragua. AMDES’s activities strengthen excluded communities so they can improve their living conditions and participate equally in a nation’s political, economic and social life.
