Rural farming communities in Veraguas face two major challenges: an inadequate food supply and limited access to technical assistance. Fundación de Organizaciones Campesinas e Indígenas de Veraguas (FOCIV) offers technical assistance to community leaders to develop skills in agroecological farming, income generation practices and negotiation. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Panama. FOCIV’s activities strengthen grassroots organizations and communities through education and training and build peer-to-peer learning and action networks.
