Project Description

Indigenous farming communities in the Ngöbe-Buglé Comarca face a variety of challenges, including an inadequate food supply, extreme weather events, and lack of access to basic services. The IAF supports community-led solutions that enhance food security and disaster resilience in Panama. Our grantee partner, Fundación de Organizaciones Campesinas e Indígenas de Veraguas (FOCIV), offers technical assistance to community leaders to develop skills in sustainable farming, adaptation to natural disasters, and engaging local officials to provide access to basic services. FOCIV’s activities strengthen grassroots organizations and communities through education and training, improving food security among the Ngöbe-Buglé.
