Project Description
Young people from marginalized neighborhoods in Latin America and the Caribbean face many challenges such as violence and lack of access to education and jobs. Fundación Futbol para el Desarrollo (FuDe) works with a network of organizations from 10 countries in the region to use a type of soccer called fútbol callejero to train young leaders in employability skills such as conflict mediation, teamwork, communication, leadership and critical-thinking. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to enhance peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean. FuDe’s activities strengthen communities through education and training and build peer-to-peer learning and action networks.
