Local Liaison for Costa Rica and Panama

Ana Carmona joined the IAF in 2012 as the Local Liaison and Advisory Service (LLAS) contractor for Costa Rica, and since 2017 she has also served in that role in Panama. Before joining the IAF she served as a Senior Program Associate for the Small Grants Programme of the UNDP’s Global Enterprise Facility.  She began her career with the United Nations in 1989 working for different agencies and on different projects. As an independent consultant, she started her own business, MORPHO-CIS, in 2012, and in the area of philanthropy she created a fund in 2017 to support community management.  She has 27 years of experience working with rural and indigenous grassroots organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Ana has a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management from the Universidad Estatal a Distancia and a master’s degree in Project Management from the Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional in San Jose, Costa Rica.
