Edith Bermudez joined the IAF in February 2009, serving first as a Program Manager before becoming a Communications Specialist. Prior to the IAF she had been the Program Liaison and Development Officer for the Andes program at Conservation International. From 2003 to 2006 she was the manager for rural development and small eco-enterprises grants in Latin America and Africa with the Rainforest Alliance. Her experience also includes five years of consultant work in development and communications with UNICEF, the IWOKRAMA international Centre in Guyana, UNDP, and Associates for Rural Development. She also was a manager for a Kellogg Foundation Project at EARTH College in Costa Rica and worked for several years with the International Center for Research and Agriculture. Edith holds a master’s degree in Communications for International Development from North Carolina State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in languages. She is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. She also studied Business Administration at the University of Costa Rica. She enjoys gardening, painting, photography, and video production.
